Ghubaar-e-tab’ mein thoRi bahut kami ho jaye
غبارِ طبع میں تھوڑی بہت کمی ہو جائے
تمھارا نام بھی سُن لوں تو روشنی ہو جائے
 
ذرا خیال کرو، وقت کس قدر کم ہے
میں جو قدم بھی اُٹھا لوں ، وہ آخری ہو جائے
 
قیامتیں تو ہمیشہ گزرتی رہتی ہیں
عذاب اُس کے لئے جس کو آگہی ہو جائے
 
گزر رہے ہیں مرے رات دن لڑائی میں
میں سوچتا ہوں کہ مجھ کو شکست  ہی ہو جائے
 
عجیب شخص ہے تبدیل ہی نہیں ہوتا
جو اُس کے ساتھ رہے چند دن وہی ہو جائے
 
مرا نصیب کنارہ ہو یا سمندر ہو
جو ہو گئی ہے، تو لہروں سے دشمنی ہو جائے
 
تمام عمر تو دوری میں کٹ گئی میری
نہ جانے کیا ہو؟ اگر اس سے دوستی ہو جائے
 
بس ایک وقت میں ساری بلائیں ٹوٹ پڑیں
اگر سفر یہ کٹھن ہے تو رات بھی ہو جائے
 
میں سو نہ جاؤں جو آسانیاں میسر ہوں
میں مر نہ جاؤں اگر ختم تشنگی ہو جائے
 
نہیں ضرور کہ اونچی ہو آسمانوں سے
یہی بہت ہے زمیں پاؤں پر کھڑی ہو جائے
 
تمام عمر سمٹ آئے ایک لمحے  میں
میں چاہتا ہوں کہ ہونا ہے جو ابھی  ہو جائے
 
وہی ہوں میں وہی امکاں کے کھیل ہیں شہزادؔ 
کبھی فرار بھی ممکن نہ ہو، کبھی ہو جائے

Tumhaara naam bhi sun lun to roushni ho jaye

Zara  khayaal karo! waqt  kis Qadar  kam hai
MaiN jo Qadam bhi uThaluN woh aakhri ho jaye

QaymaateiN to  hameshaa guzartii rahtii haiN
‘azaab us ke liye  jis ko  aa-gahee  ho jaye

Guzar rahe haiN  mere raat din laRaayii meiN
MaiN sochta huN K mujh ko shikast hi ho jaye

Ajeeb  shaksh hai!  tabdeeel hi nahii hotaa!
Jo us ke saath rahe chand din, wohii ho jaye

Meraa naseeb  kinaaraa ho  yaa  samundar ho
Jo hogayii hai to lahroN se dushmani ho jaye

Tamaam umr  to doori mein  kaT gayi merii!!
Na jaane kya ho? agar  uss se dosti ho jaye

Bus aek waqt mein saari balaayeiN TooT paRiN
Agar safar ye kaThin hai to raat bhi ho jaye

MaiN so na jauN, jo aasaaniyaaN muyassar hoN
MaiN mar na jauN, agar khatm tishnagi ho jaye

Nahi zaroor,  K  ooNchii  ho aasmaanoN se!!
Yehi bahut hai zamiiN paoN par khaRi ho jaye

Tamaam umr simaT aayi hai ek lamhay meiN
MaiN chahta hun K hona hai jo abhi ho jaye

Wohi huN maiN! wohi imkaN ke khel haiN Shahzad
Kabhi feraar bhi mumkin na ho, kabhi ho jaye
